Associate
Stephanie Stinton is an associate in Stahl Cowen’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, where she represents financial institutions and business entities in a wide range of complex commercial litigation cases. Stephanie has extensive experience litigating breach of contract, mortgage foreclosure, mechanics lien, trade secret and employment matters.
Representative Matters:
- Favorably negotiated settlement, including broad restrictive covenants, on behalf of an employer in a case against a former employee for violation of the Illinois Trade Secrets Act and breach of various employment agreements.
- Successfully defended corporate officers in a case by a former employee for civil conspiracy to tortiously interfere with his employment contract after he was terminated prior to the expiration of his employment term.
- Obtained swift resolution on behalf of a bank for breach of promissory notes in excess of $6 million through confession of judgment.
- Favorably negotiated short sales and settlement on behalf of a borrower in foreclosure of five commercial mortgages securing over $5 million in promissory notes.
- Stephanie was named as an Illinois Rising Star by Super Lawyers for 2011, 2012 and 2013.
