    Stahl Cowen Crowley prevails on behalf of client in significant bankruptcy case. SCC has prevailed against a bankruptcy trustee on a complaint to recover a preferential transfer by establishing that the funds our client received were paid to it under a constructive trust and therefore did not have to be returned to the bankruptcy estate. In case decided in the United States Bankruptcy Court, we convinced the Delaware Bankruptcy Judge to reconsider a line of Illinois cases in such a way as to carve out an exception for the SCC client who was sued to return money to the bankruptcy estate.

    Stahl Cowen Crowley LLC is pleased to announce that partners Barry P. Siegal and David K. Staub have been named to the 2007 list of "Illinois Super Lawyers," an honor awarded to only five percent of the lawyers in the state. The third annual guide to Illinois Super Lawyers, published by Law & Politics, is included in a special supplement to the February issue of Chicago magazine. Law & Politics surveys 47,000 practicing attorneys throughout the state and conducts independent research to determine nominees.

    Stahl Cowen Crowley retained to represent non-union retirees of Dana Corp. Stahl Cowen Crowley was selected to serve as counsel for the Non-Union Retiree Committee of Dana Corp and its Subsidiaries. The Dana Corp. Chapter 11 bankruptcy case is pending in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The Non-Union Retiree Committee represents approximately 7,500 former employees of Dana Corp.

    Stahl Cowen Crowley partner David Staub participated in a program held in downtown Chicago on advanced LLC issues, sponsored by National Business Institute. David's topic, "Mastering Estate Planning Issues" covered the use of LLCs in the context of estate planning and asset protection.

    David Staub presented a program to the Pass-Through Entities Subcommittee of the Chicago Bar Association's Corporation and Business Law Committee. The title of his program was "Personal Liability of LLC Members And Managers: Piercing The Veil And Other Issues."
