Timothy P. Fitzgerald
Tim Fitzgerald is a transactional business and tax attorney and a member of Stahl Cowen’s Business Organizations and Transactions and Private Wealth Services practice groups.Tim is a transactional business and tax attorney who focuses his practice on the representation of closely-held and middle-market businesses, business owners, real estate investors, banks, and other organizations, including tax-exempt and other socially-conscious businesses. Tim acts as general counsel for many of his clients and advises on day-to-day contractual, employment, tax and other business issues.
Tim routinely represents clients in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other business reorganizations. He also has significant experience representing banks in commercial lending transactions, including documenting complex financing transactions, loan forbearances, and loan modifications.
In addition to his transactional corporate experience, Tim also provides estate, gift and income tax planning and business succession planning, and has significant experience with complex estate and trust administration matters. He also works with clients to design and implement asset protection strategies.
Tim’s clients rely on his advice and judgment because he invests time to learn their businesses and to understand their long-term objectives. His clients appreciate his transparent and open communication style and ability to be a problem-solver by proposing creative solutions to help advance client objectives and move deals forward.
Tim is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has experience representing clients before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), IRS Appeals, and state taxing authorities.
