Elizabeth O’Brien is a member of the firm concentracting her practice in the areas of corporate law, securities, and commercial real estate.
In connection with corporate transactions, Elizabeth represents middle-market businesses in connection with business formation and corporate government, planning and operational issues, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, financing, joint ventures, venture capital, and a variety of other corporate matters.In finance transactions, Elizabeth represents both borrowers and nationally-recognized financial institutions in both commercial and industrial lending transactions, including the drafting and negotiation of loan documents, collateral agreements, third-party guarantees, and restructuring and workout agreements for distressed real estate.
Elizabeth has extensive experience in the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate, including shopping centers, grocery anchored development, self-storage, and has counseled local and national developers, investors and REITS on contract drafting and negotiation, financing (including construction), leasing, and title and survey clearance.
Elizabeth also has experience in condominium development and conversion, and in counseling developers in compliance issues with the Department of Housing and Urban Development and Illinois Condominium Property Act.
