Zach Blair helps his clients execute complex real estate transactions. Prior to joining Stahl Cowen, he was an in-house attorney at a Fortune 100 retailer where he led and managed a broad range of real estate activities in all 50 states, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, landlord/tenant disputes, zoning and entitlements, construction contracts, corporate entity creation (and spin-offs), as well as the review of tax assessments and prosecution of appeals.
He structures deals and acquisitions, negotiates leases and commercial contracts, drafts CC&Rs, financing documents and supply agreements, and more for his developer, REIT, owner, investor, landlord, and tenant clients. He has guided high-profile, multi-million dollar deals and negotiated and renegotiated loan and financing transactions. In recent matters, Zach assisted a well-known REIT in finalizing the leasing of space at regional shopping centers with a number of national tenants.
Zach's clients rely on his practical approach, guided by a broad understanding of their business and strategic objectives, his keen sense of operating within large, hierarchical organizations, and his ability to put himself in their shoes. He knows how large and small organizations measure success, how they identify and assess risk, and how they balance differing objectives of multiple corporate and individual stakeholders.
He has developed and maintains valuable working relationships with industry associations, business leaders, and local and regional government entitlement and property tax agencies across the country.
Zach enjoys community service, Chicago sports, out-door activities, traveling with his family and completing home improvement projects with his wife.
