Kate Blumenthal's practice focuses on trust and fiduciary matters including representation of corporate and individual fiduciaries, trust and estate administration, taxation and litigation, ERISA administration, and estate planning. Ms. Blumenthal has been in private practice since 1999, joining the firm in 2000.Ms. Blumenthal began her legal career as assistant general counsel for an Illinois bankholding company. In 1988 she returned to the trust business, managing and then acting as trust counsel for the trust department of a local suburban Illinois bank. While in the banking business Ms. Blumenthal was appointed to the Illinois Fiduciary Advisory Committee.
Ms. Blumenthal has done extensive speaking on estate, retirement and investment planning for banks and service organizations. In addition, she currently teaches two courses at The John Marshall Graduate Law Center as an adjunct professor, ERISA Fiduciaries and Income Taxation of Trusts and Estates.
