Arbitration and Meditation
Increasingly, the dispute resolution lawyers at Stahl Cowen help clients avoid adversarial litigation, manage costs, and privately resolve a wide variety of commercial and contractual disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods, including real estate, manufacturing, technology, and other business issues.

We represent transportation companies, property owners, employers and employees before private arbitrators and mediators, the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and in court-appointed mediations. We seek early case evaluation to prevent the escalation of conflicts that could harm ongoing business relationships.

For example, we have:

  • Negotiated a favorable settlement for a title insurance company to resolve vicarious liability and agency-related claims brought by a third party seeking in excess of $1,000,000 in damages
  • Mediated and obtained a favorable settlement for an employee to resolve breach of non-compete, non-solicitation, confidentiality, and fiduciary duty claims made by their former employer
  • Negotiated a favorable settlement for a Florida-based telemarketing company accused of improper solicitation by the Illinois Attorney General in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois
  • Settled a real estate title dispute after extensive discovery and motion practice to provide our client with the full value of the property in dispute plus attorneys’ fees
