We work with them to identify opportunities, negotiate deals, draft documentation, and conduct in-depth due diligence. We help them resolve disputes in the courtroom and in the board room. We structure their funds – private equity, venture capital, hedge, buyout, real estate – then work closely with them to bring in additional capital, understand risk, form strategic alliances, and restructure and reorganize portfolio companies.
For example, we recently assisted a client to establish a Chicago-based income-focused hedge fund structured to protect investors against downside risk. The fund uses a unique and proprietary trading methodology to enhance returns while simultaneously quantifying risk.
In addition, we regularly work with entrepreneurs, business founders, emerging companies and other entities to secure the funding they need to set up and grow their companies. Our lengthy tradition advising private equity and venture capital funds gives us the relationships and market perspective our corporate clients need to succeed. They rely on both our insight into how investors evaluate long-term success, and our connections with capital sources and others who can help them achieve their objectives, including individual and institutional investors, lenders, financial intermediaries, and others.
We recently sourced the financing needed for ongoing operations in a private equity-backed acquisition. The transaction brought together two private equity firms and two operating parties.
