Stahl Cowen's Corporate Group Closed Union Partner's Acquisition of Lee Steel Assets10/05/2015
Stahl Cowen’s transaction group closed on the Union Partners I LLC’s acquisition of the assets of Lee Steel’s Wyoming, Michigan operations. Led by managing partner Lauane Addis, the team included Lauren DeJong, Tim Fitzgerald, Elizabeth O’Brien and Rebecca Vicario. In addition to the handling the asset acquisition, the team navigated extensive bankruptcy issues, negotiated a real estate acquisition loan for the steel processing plant, renegotiated a commercial lease for office space, negotiated a term C&I loan, and handled the mezzanine financing. Lee Steel will be operated as a going-concern, top-tier service center focused on a continuation and expansion of a 60+ year history of unmatched quality and service to its customers. “This was an opportunity to add significant talent to our family of companies; not only does Lee Steel have an exceptional staff, but they arguably have some of the finest equipment and service provided in Michigan. We look forward to Lee Steel’s bright future and will continue to focus on the needs and services of Lee Steel’s customers,” said Chris Hutter of Union Partners.
